概要 | The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of swing-ratio on listeners’ recognition of musical rhythm. An experiment was conducted to examine how a rhythm pattern is recognized under various swing-ratios while the tempo is kept constant. Five conditions of swing-ratio were used: 250:250 ms, 300:200 ms, 350:150 ms, 400:100 ms, and 450:50 ms. All stimuli were presented by using Scheffé’s paired comparison (Ura’s variation). Significant differences were obtained from the five swing-ratio conditions. In particular, when the swing-ratio was 400:100 ms and 450:50 ms, the patterns received lower scale values for “liking” and “dynamism” than other swing-ratios did. The results were discussed in the context of the temporal limit in information processing of musical rhythm. |
