概要 Most lactic acid bacteria are non-motile but Lactobacillus agilis are flagellated and exhibit motility. The flagella filaments of L. agilis BKN88 isolated from fecal sample consist of two homologous glycosylated flagelins, wich likely have an incomplete TLR5-recognition site. The characteristics of the flageline are presumably a consequence of adaptation as a commensal microbe in the gastrointestinal tract.
