概要 | This thesis compares the response to malignant authority by the protagonists of two Mark Twain novels: Huckleberry Finn (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn) and Hank Morgan (A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court). While Huckleberry Finn's reactions to authoritarian pressure are weakened by his doubts about the value of his own actions and judgement in the context of the Antebellum South, Hank Morgan's are informed by an absolute conviction that he occupies the moral high ground. |
