概要 | The purpose of this research is to find the effective strategy for development of women managers in Japan. The women manager rate in Japan is 11.2 in 2013 and stands out among advanced economy countries. Semi-structured interviews of thirty-six working women were conducted. I focused on their perceptions of leadership, social network, and fairness in the organization. From the content analysis of five managers in 50s, who entered just before or after the enforcement of Equal Employment Opportunity Law in 1986, it was found that the experiences of exclusion from core career networks, gender unbalance in the organization, and women's flat social network were the obstacles to promotion. In the meantime, their fairness perception was differed from the women in their 70s who experienced management, and from ones in 30s who are expected being managers. Abstract was peer-reviewed. |
