|Beyond the Saussurean Concept of Speech Circuit
|Proceedings of the XVIth International Congress of Linguists(CD-ROM)
|The author insists Saussurean concept of speech circuit presupposes uniquely homogeneous and closed linguistic code between speakers. He also clarifies Saussure's other concepts of a speaking subject as well as speec community supports his strikingly creative idea. The author's idea is we can open the speech circuit when we don't make such presuppositions and start to consider multi-linguistic communication in a heterogeneous speech community. In the author's view, abstract language system is nothing more than what is naturally constructed among speakers after the fact of communicating, and it can't suppose the unity without individual differences.
