概要 The author reports the results of a study of consistency and style
shifting in a second language. The author's hypothesis was that having only a short amount of time to complete a task would moves students toward what Elaine Tarone calls the vernacular style, while having unlimited time would cause students to use more careful styles. The hypothesis was only weakly supported.
