概要 Samuel R. Delany's most recent novel, Through the Valley of the Nest of Spiders (2012), begins with a cornucopia sexual activity of such variety and unconventionality that no one could embrace it all, and many will be repelled by much of it. Far from intending to shock, though, Delany is engaged, I argue, in a utopian project: in the pages of Spiders Delany reveals the humanity of those who do things "we" would never do, and also the utopian potential of a stigmaztized genre. The borders defining "us," defining genre, dissolve.
