概要 Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant's explosions brought to light our unconscious extravagance use of electricity over the past several decades. Japan has experienced Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and there is currently a very strong aversion towards the use of nuclear energy. In this paper, we will discuss ambivalent social representations of nuclear power based on discourse in TEPCO advertisements and TEPCO's organizational history; Kiyome (cleanness) and Kegare (impurity).
